hi! i am Guerz,
my roots are in the y2k internet — messing with deadjournal and later livejournal layouts, tweaking the frontend aesthetics until it felt like mine. this isn’t a beginner story. it’s a return. the muscle memory never left. it was just waiting for the right moment to come back online.
this is my little corner of the internet, where i build, write, learn, and try to turn the weird little fractures in my life into something sturdier and more useful.
i’m a web developer in two halves: one half enrolled (Full Sail University, Web Development B.S.), the other half self-taught and stubborn about it (freeCodeCamp, plus whatever i can break on purpose). the rest of me is dj, musician, & blogger. i’m also trying to break generational patterns, honor the people who came before me, and build a life that doesn’t just survive the past — it outlives it.
guerz.lol is part WIP web developer portfolio, part brain dump, part ongoing proof that i’m still here and still making things. it holds my projects, my writing, my study notes, and whatever else feels worth dragging into the light.
where i’m at: my main focus is Full Sail University’s Web Development B.S. — the degree is the spine of everything right now. running parallel to it is freeCodeCamp: six certifications, one at a time, until i can call myself a Certified Full-Stack Developer and mean it. first up, Responsive Web Design v9. The Odin Project is on pause; i’ll pick Foundations back up at Basic JavaScript once that RWD cert is mine and i’ve moved on to fCC’s JavaScript curriculum. also, too: HTML & CSS reps on Coddy and Mimo, because repetition is the whole damn game.
the whole vibe & feel here is fun, funny, funny-looking, honest, a little crass, a bit darkly satirical, and most definitely not sterile. i like websites that feel lived in.
